Director's Investment Group seeks a talented and creative person to serve in the capacity of EXECUTIVE CHEF for the DIG Lodge, a new, state-of-the-art, 20-room lodge and event center. The DIG Lodge will provide the Texas Excellence Experience for in-person board meetings, VIP trips, conclaves, and management conferences.

The Executive Chef plays a vital role in enhancing the overall experience at the DIG Lodge by developing and executing a unique food and entertainment program. This position is essential for managing all culinary activities at the DIG Lodge, including events and take-home meals for DIG staff. By creating exceptional dining experiences and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, the Executive Chef significantly contributes to customer satisfaction, staff well-being, and the organization's reputation for excellence.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Overall Kitchen Operations

Tools & Technology:
  • General kitchen equipment and appliances
  • Cutting tools and kitchen utensils

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
  • Menu Creation: Develop and update menus for VIP breakfast, lunch, and dinners, employee luncheons, staff retreats, Board meetings, staff trainings, and employee take-home foods.
  • Kitchen Supervision: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, ensuring efficiency and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Prepare Ingredients: Wash and chop vegetables, cut meat, measure spices, etc.
  • Prepare & Plate Dishes: Create and beautifully plate dishes such as salads, entrees, sandwiches, soups, steaks, sides (vegetables), etc.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients to minimize waste and control costs.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage the kitchen budget, including labor costs, food costs, and other expenses. Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving measures as needed.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation. Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Customer Interaction: Engage with customers to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction. Address any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the kitchen clean and orderly by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role
  • Exceptional culinary skills and creativity
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Education/ Certifications:
  • Required: Food Handler Certification
  • Preferred: Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
